I almost died when I saw this auto advert from the 1950's on Flint Expatriates...
You know, I always wondered if there was more to all those guys with huge trucks than simply that some guys need them for off-road...esp. when so many guys keep them incredibly clean (for off-road vehicles, that is.)
Makes me wonder, too, what it says about guys who drive small cars...
Nowadays, could mean they have more money for dates than guys with big trucks!
Think about it....

On Tuesday, 5/27/08, there was an outstanding show (Eco Documentaries-Season Two: Contested Streets) on the Sundance Channel about NYC traffic, and how it got to be that way, and lessons that New York could learn from cities like Copenhagen.
My biggest takeaway: NYC's mistake was to make it ALL about the car, and its urgent need to get through to somewhere, at the cost of "wheres" everywhere. Highways and freeways destroyed scores of neighborhoods because the planners ignored the needs of people and communities.
